Leaving Jeep….again. Found my love belongs to pickups.

I have a house, im 40 & working on selling my 3rd Jeep. i was Sooooo happy back in 2011 when I picked up my JK after being away from Jeeps for 4 years. It was fun, it had its moments but was also problematic for 75% of the time.

Over the past 4 years, I've rented about 12 cars from Enterprise- no exaggeration- so I decided to buy a cheap pickup for 2 reasons: rather than constantly renting & had alot of work to do at the house, pulling the trailer became a hassle. So getting a pickup made sense.

Ended up getting a '97 Ford f250 7.3 diesel from Ebay about 4 months ago . Ironically, this truck has seen mechanic about 5 times already; 1 time because of a diesel spill that got the EPA involved (LONG story). Truck was working fine seemingly, drive it & the trailer up to Albany to help my brother move- I live in NJ. And of course, it breaks down and pours oil everywhere. Finally picking it back up on sunday.

I've realized...... I Love pickups! So now I'm selling both the jeep & the ford. Now I'm looking around at what type to get. I had been going back & forth with the idea of getting a Raptor- not new- but I love having the 8' bed and not sure I'd be happy going to a 5.5'/6' .I'd also like to stick with Super Duty. So now I'm thinking f250/350 or Ram 2500/3500.

Found a beautiful 2014 3500 6.4L w/ 98k miles for $29k. Seems reasonable & that's a good motor. I'd love to stick with diesel but I'm willing to make a compromise with a good option.

I'd love to hear some biased/unbiased recommendations for whichever 3/4 - 1 Ton pickups.

I'm very grateful to come across this community.

Edit: here's the current truck F-250 Front End

Need help on installing mod

So I purchased a opt7 footwell light set for my 2018 Silverado. It has the Aurora light feature which hooks into the dome light wire to turn on when I open up the door.

My question is for those who have done this, what fuse have you tapped into and would a 14-18 gauge wire tap for the dome light wire work?

I have researched this for days and have not found a uniform answer for this. Also if anyone can post a pic of the dome light wire under the dash as I have seen 2 wires that people have tapped into as well.

Thank you in advance for any help

Looking at a 2014 Chevy Silverado and need opinions.

I've found a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.3L V6 for around $19,000. I see that everyone hates 4.3L but I'll mainly be using the truck for an every day vehicle and to move some furniture maybe one time. I dont plan on towing lots and lots of things but more so of this becoming the family vehicle.

So is it really all that bad? I dont think I need anything powerful.
